“It is thanks to festivals that off-field encounters can exist. Encounters that can become stories to be shared or lived intimately, as inexhaustible sources of inspiring friendship. During a festival, one can photograph the “world of cinema” while trying to avoid photographing the actor, who is still there in everyone, despite appearances. I try to photograph the other scene: the one that is played out among these characters who no longer pose, who no longer support with their gaze the lens that stares at them, who do not always prepare to be seen. To collect silent, discreet images of what collectively makes humanity.”
“C’est grâce aux festivals que des rencontres hors-champ peuvent exister. Des rencontres qui peuvent devenir des histoires à partager ou à vivre intimement, comme des sources inépuisables d’amitié inspirantes. Durant un festival, on peut photographier le “monde du cinéma” en essayant d’éviter de photographier l’acteur, qui est encore là chez chacun, malgré les apparences. J’essaie de photographier l’autre scène : celle qui se joue parmi ces personnages qui ne posent plus, qui ne soutiennent plus du regard l’objectif qui les fixe, qui ne se préparent pas toujours à être vus. Collecter des images silencieuses, discrètes, de ce qui fait collectivement l’humanité.”
